PLOT: Watchmen is based on the graphic novel of the same name, which critics often herald as the greatest comic ever written. The story is as sophisticated as any novel. The setting is a gritty and alternate 1985, a time when the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown. However, after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered, an investigation into who is responsible begins.
