View Full Version : The Top 100 Silent Films
Ozma
We already have a Silent Film thread, but we need another. These films are too important and wonderful to be ignored. They are the beginning of all we know today and are becoming more of a mad passion of mine with each film I am fortunate to find and watch. Make sure you check out their DVDs at the top to see what is available. (No I don't work for Kino, but I wish I did)

I dont' particularly agree with the order, but it's great to see some "silent classics" love. Just cool as hell!!

I have really been getting into Silents alot lately, I have always loved them, but there are so many available now and being restored, I am on a mission.
They are also finding some that were feared lost all of these years. This is a really good website, the one the link is to.

I was surprised to see Caligari getting a higher rating than Potemkin. In terms of personal favourites I agree, but Eisenstein's film was probably more seminal.

I have seen only 23 of the top 100, I have a lot to still see. And they have another list, at the bottom is a link, Off the list 101-200, I don't think I have seen any of those.
