Well as I am sure you are all aware my overwelming average posts of 2.61 a day have been missing for the last week. SO where in the world was Cicero? Funny you ask, because it's quite a story, you see I was in Sydney representing my state at the national UNYA conference, UNYA is the United Nations Youth Association. The national conference is called UNYC and rather humorously pronounced Yunic. It was possibly the most amazing week of my life, the thing about UNYA is it is run by youth and so the people that attend are some of the most interesting and amazing people I have ever met. The friendships I made there were unforgetable.

Basically the whole week comprised of attending speeches, having discussions in large and small groups, representing a country in mock UN situations and basically just socialising and having endless fun. I was representing Peru, but generally found myself representing my own opinions rather than Peru's. I found it a lot more fun to do it that way and also a lot easier than representing Peru's non existant policies on world affairs. It was a strange thing to be a guy who is used to being outspoken and arguing a lot and then being thrown into a group of people chosen exactly for those reasons. You find yourself being very overwelmed and unexpectadely unable to get a word in. I also was asked to do a national radio interview on behalf of the young adults attending UNYC, which was a lot of fun and a cool experience to have under the belt.

Any way to the most important part of this trip that warranted me giving it its own thread. I was some how beyond belief selected to represent Australia at a national conference. We were informed that we will be going to the Netherlands to the actual Hague building of the UN and the three people leading the trip are all 20 and amazingly cool people. I couldn't believe my luck, but then the director of the trip said "One of the best bits of this trip is probably the tour" to which I assumed he meant a tour of the UN building until he said "The tour will commen in Munich we will then go to Venice, Geneva, Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Budapest, Brussels, Ljubljana and finally The Hague" I experienced Nirvana for a slight momjent upon hearing this until it was just too much and my head exploded all over the room. I have never been to Europe before in my life and now i can see so much of it. The group of people I am going with are amazing and there is not a single one I do not get a long with incredibly well. It all kicks off in January!

This is apparently the largest gathering of youth in the entire world. It is a real honour to be chosen to go and I just can not grip that I actually am going it is shocking.

Hopefully I will post pictures of UNYC soon and then after January passes I will posts heaps of pictures in here then.

A few of my friends did that two years ago, it sounded like fun. I'm terribly envious...

I'll say, "The tour will commen in Munich we will then go to Venice, Geneva, Prague, Paris, Amsterdam, Budapest, Brussels, Ljubljana and finally The Hague"
Just a shame that you won't visit the sophisticated delight of a city that is Glasgow ;)
Seriously though, Europe is a beautiful place and by the sound of it, you'll be able to enjoy it in good company. Do you have any idea how long it all lasts?

Ozma
Well WOW...that is just the most wonderful thing.....what a lucky fellow you are...How exciting for you.

That sounds fabulous, Cicero! What an oppourtunity! I'd kill for something like that

IceBlade
That sounds so intense! When do you go? I'm going to Europe this summer, on a 2 weeks bus tour with some extended family. We're going to England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Belgium, it's going to be so fun! Maybe I'll see you there!

cicero
Ice Blade if we are in the same places at the same time we should try to organise a meet up!

Well would you believe i was in the newspaper today! 6th page with a large photo, all because of getting on this trip.

Here's a random photo of me and a friend I made and would you believe we are on a private cruise liner at a party going around Darling Harbour in Sydney. It was the goodbye party for the week.

For all the English people on the board this guy's name is Sanjeev Kumar

Haha well thank you for that.

Sanjeev is just about the absolute opposite of his named character. During the week stay, he had a job interview with KPMG(A very large investment company) and with a job that had 20 interviews a day for 5 days he got it! Not to mention he is the captain of his school and a bloody great guy.

Ozma
Oh for Pete's Sake, :p Cicero looks very dapper in that suit ;) ...not pimpish at all...

Sorry cicero, I just had to use smileys...

What the hell, I might as use the limit !!!!! in for a penny in for a pound...

SilverScreenAddict
You remind me of my brother, Cicero lol. Lookin' great in that suit and not at all like a pimp

TappyTibbons

That's pretty funny, now I am really interested as to what your brother looks like.

Man this whole thing sounds like a blast

Oh it was Maddy, it seems every one I have talked to that went to the event is in a state of post depression, because they are affraid they will not see any of the people they met again. I guess though that's the best bit about getting to represent Australia, is that we get to see some of the people again.

I have a photoshoot tomorrow with a magazine I've never heard of before in my life. The problem is that this trip costs $5500 AUD and I need to raise serious amounts of money from sponsor ship if I am going to be able to go.
