Chapter 18 - The Secret of Hanging Rock

Joan Linsay did have an ending to the story, but it was never published or used for the film. I am glad. But the final chapter was published 3 years after the author's death, it was her wish.

I like the film just the way it is and the fact that we got to use our own imagination and speculate on the fate of the girls. I don't really care for this ending.
I have to say Picnic at Hanging Rock is one of those movies than haunts me and always will. I adore this movie. Ethereal is a good word to describe this film.
