I lay a pound to a pinch of pig sh*t that Brad Dourif is the maniac!
I hope so- love him- he'll always be Billy B-B-B-B-Bibbitt
P-p-please d-d-don't tell my m-m-mother.
It's definitely a good possibility- his name, according to imdb for this movie is "Mr. Smirker."

I believe I first came across that expression in a Stephen King novel..can't remember which one.. I've always believed it to mean a dead certain, can't lose bet or wager..but not being much of a gambling man I don't know whether I'm supposed to stake the pound or the pigsh*t!? :o

This story has been done before so many times, and they can say it's different because they changed the source of the killings, but it's still the same. Even if it weren't for that, I still won't see it because, based on the trailer it looks like a flop.

hey have you guys seen the trailor for this new movie Chain Letter?

It seems like it could be pretty cool. Looks like it's got that actress Nikki Reed from Twilight in it. I didn't realize she'd been working on a new movie. I think it might be kind of interesting to see her in an actual horror movie for a change. what do you guys think?

Aww p-p-poor Billy. :(
Haha, how's that for a villainous moniker? Watch out for Mr. Smirker, everybody! He might... uh... make smug facial expressions in your general direction?

I don't remember even seeing him in the trailer, now that I think about it. Heh, maybe he really IS the killer.

its a shame that such a good actor is going to be remembered just for playing a doll.
If you've ever seen mississippi burning you know exactly how good he is at playing a detestable human being

I remember seeing Dourif years ago in the (straight to video) " 'Stephen King's The Graveyard Shift"..which was very loosely based on a short story about rats in an old factory.
In the film version Dourif is this f*cked up 'Nam vt who is now a vermin exterminator who, when asked if he was 'in 'Nam' by someone, replies in the positive adding "but I ain't one of them fu*cked up 'Nam vets Bruce Dern is always playing!" which really cracked me up......

Nah! Only by people currently under thirty..everyone else remembers his tour de force debut in Cuckoo's Nest. His Wormtongue in LotR was really good, too..if brief.

I remember him as Billy Bibbitt in Cuckoo's Nest, but I also remember him as the Doc in the Deadwood series!

I remember him as Billy Bibbitt in Cuckoo's Nest, but I also remember him as the Doc in the Deadwood series! He was just the best as Doc, I'd like to see him play more characters, he was superb.
I liked him in Dune. He heard Dune (1984) described as "science fiction's answer to Heaven's Gate (1980) (which Dourif also starred in)," and he agrees totally with this summation. I agree too, never thought about that before.

I've never seen Dune, but Heaven's Gate had a lot of problems with it. I really don't know what to say about that movie. I think it sucked and was good at the same time. Is there a book out there about the making of that movie and the response to it? If not, there should be. Michael Cimino...talk about a one hit wonder.

Well...in fairness to the man he made Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and then The Deer Hunter before Heaven's Gate. If your next film decimates a studio's funds to the point where they almost have to file for bankruptcy...the directional work kinda dries up a bit!

Yes, there is . I've read it and it's very good, details...here (http://blogcritics.org/archives/2004/07/07/165456.php)
